What to do this weekend
Friday: Sidebar 10th anniversary party
Starting at 6 p.m., head downtown for a carnival-style street party to celebrate a decade of good drinks and great times at Sidebar. The party features an '80s & '90s cover band Bedhead, as well as free Twinkies (yes, I said Twinkies!), $2 and $4 drink specials, carnival performers, games, and awesome giveaways. And if you'd like to get there early to beat traffic, stop by Park Bar (a sister eatery) for a little pre-gaming (aka the 3-2-1 special), then walk over to Sidebar.
Where: 79 Poplar Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303
Saturday: Bone Lick BBQ 1st anniversary bash
If you love BBQ, day-drinking, beer-chugging contests, eating competitions, live music, and a good celebrity dunk tank, then this party is made for you. Festivities kick off at noon at Bone Lick BBQ and last all night. Come show off your talents during the Red Hare Brewing Company chugging competition (2 p.m.) and the Fat Ass Muff Challenge (5 p.m.) and stay for free shots after the Braves win.
Where: 1133 Huff Road, Atlanta,
Georgia 30318 (at Apex West Midtown)
Sunday: STK desserts
After partying all weekend, slow down and indulge in some sweet, sweet dessert at STK. The steak house just unveiled its new dessert menu, which features deliciousness like the lemon blueberry torte and the coconut mango vacherin. Pastry chef Abbie White, who worked with Jean-Georges Vongerichten before joining STK, made sure the revamped menu pairs well with your favorite cordials and cognacs.
