Fave Five: Newest Atlanta Restaurants

Is it just me or have there been a lot of new restaurant openings in Atlanta in the last couple of months?? I’m a sucker for trying a new eatery, and places like BeetleCat and Brezza Cecina (that Shrub cocktail deserves its own post!) are keeping me satiated, but there are so many more to try. 

Below is the list of my most coveted new restaurants to visit. Some are already welcoming guests, others are still awaiting their grand opening. Either way, they look very promising! 

Oh, I’ve been waiting for this space to open with baited breath… It’s the restaurant child of Jenn and Billy Streck, the power couple behind Cypress Street Pint + Plate, Grain and the three-month pop-up restaurant Hudson North. I fell head over heels in love with the latter! It was stylish and cozy at the same time, with nautical themes of their New England roots and the most beautiful of details. Their new venture will have the heart of the pop-up with an expanded menu and space. Spring can’t get here soon enough! 

This place is in the heart of Inman Park, aka my favorite Atlanta neighborhood. It also has Bryan Stoffelen, the ever-so-talented former chef of Cakes & Ale, running its kitchen. Plus, it has sayings in French printed throughout and decor is too darn cute not to visit. I can’t possibly pass this place up. My birthday’s in a couple of weeks (wink wink, hint hint)… just saying! 

The newest secret bar in town! Now that Prohibition is no more, this is your next best speakeasy option — and it sounds like it might be even better than its predecessor. You definitely have to have a password and reservation to get in, of which I have neither. All I know is it’s located near Umi in Buckhead, and I can’t wait to visit! 

This restaurant recently opened in Woodfire Grill’s old space by local chef Justin Anthony. The only resemblance to its predecessor is that it’s still a high-end restaurant. In the fully renovated white-and-gray dining room, the chef brings a South African flare to the classic steakhouse menu. And I simply can’t resist good South African cuisine!

Korean BBQ you don’t have to leave the city for? Sign me up! Brought to you by Richard Tang, the same guy responsible for Craft Izakaya at Krog Street Market, is opening this tabletop grill restaurant in March in Inman Park (hmm, anyone else spot a location pattern here?). Even more exciting, the cocktail list (and cocktails) will be crafted by a H&F Bottle Shop connoisseur.
