Feast Your Eyes: Crab & avocado salad from Le Bilboquet
Isn't it pretty? |
Every Friday, I’ll be sharing a recipe from one of my favorite restaurants/chefs in Atlanta. I cannot even tell you how excited I am to share the inaugural recipe with you today! I’ve been drooling over this particular dish since before Le Bilboquet opened.
Le Bilboquet: If this doesn't look like the perfect Parisian setting, I don't know what does |
It looks extravagant and complex, but it might be easier to recreate than we think. Here’s the word from Le Bilboquet:
-It’s jumbo lump crab meat in French cocktail sauce mixed with corn and cilantro.
-Place the mixture on top of guacamole and garnish with corn coulis. Done and done!
The Le Crabe Avocat et Mais salad, as it’s called on the restaurant’s menu, is just one of the dishes that was available at this year’s Doggies on the Catwalk event, which took place in the stylish streets of Buckhead, Atlanta, on June 13.
During the eighth annual philanthropic event, founded and organized by E. Vincent Martinez of fashionado, some of Atlanta’s most notable personalities and their four-legged friends showed off the latest fashions while spectators sipped on summer cocktails and noshed on delectable bites. This year’s event was sold out and benefited the Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption, a no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs and cats. E. "This was a signature year for Doggies on the Catwalk, as the annual event found two ‘forever homes,” Martinez tells Belly of the Feast. “The first is with our exclusive new venue, Buckhead Atlanta, and secondly with Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption, for whom we raised more than $35K!”
“Doggies on the Catwalk became the event I always envisioned it to be,” Martinez adds.
He has a fantastic photo recap of the event, so head on over to the Fashionado blog to see pics of D’anne Heckert, Raquel Souza and Patti Dickey wearing stunning fashions from Alice + Olivia, Helmut Lang, Theory, Bonobos and Bella Bag.
