Savor the last of summer

Fall is finally here and I could not be more excited! The lack of humidity alone makes fall my absolute favorite season in Georgia. The cooler temperatures and actually being able to enjoy spending time outdoors make fall a truly amazing time in Atlanta.

But for some of you, it’s a little more difficult to let summer go than it is for me. I get it. This post is for you then.

One way to savor what’s left of summer is to check out Cocktails in the Garden. It’s a nighttime event that takes place every Thursday in September, 6-10 p.m., in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

I know what you’re thinking—botanical gardens? Zzz… Think again. First of all, the theme for this month is chocolate. Perked up yet? You can sip chocolaty cocktails (think mudslides) with friends and admire the gorgeous Atlanta skyline at night. You can also learn how to make chocolate in the new exhibition “Chocolate: Seed to Sweet,” and buy chocolate-y goodness at the Chocolate Market (on the 23rd).

Not a chocolate lover? There’s a Cirque du Soleil egg hunt for adults on the 16th—a gift giveaway promoting the new show, “OVO”. If you’re a fan of the arts, check out the Atlanta Ballet dancers performing throughout the garden on the 16th, 23rd, and 30th, previewing their new season.

THE VERDICT: $15 gets you chocolate cocktails, lit-up Atlanta skyline, gifts and the company of good friends.
