'Steel' of the week
Who doesn’t love free stuff? Especially when it’s sushi!
I recently found out that Steel Restaurant and Lounge in Midtown offers free sushi during happy hour. This happens every Wednesday from 5-7pm.
So, what’s the catch, you ask? A $10 drink minimum, but it’s really not so bad, because Steel offers daily $5 Ketel One cocktails—nom! (Sorry Chelsea Handler) And $5 for a top-shelf drink is a real "steel" (get it?) in Atlanta, so just 2 of those and you get a free dinner.
The only thing that kind of sucks is that the sushi selection is random and limited—you can only choose from 3 types of sushi. Today’s selection is California roll, spicy tuna roll, and chef’s choice. But hey, it is free food—don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
The restaurant itself is pretty neat. It’s small inside and has a sleek, contemporary décor. There is an appropriately Indochine-themed wasabi booth in the middle of the restaurant, as well as a wine room you can reserve for private dining. The best part is the free parking in a garage behind the restaurant (access on Spring St).
THE VERDICT: I’m going next week, so I’ll keep you posted.
